 Respiratory Protection​

  • Surgical or cloth masks offer strong protection against a COVID infection.

  • ​Respiratory protection is no longer needed because we have vaccines.

FACT: NIOSH approved respirators, elastomerics & PAPRs Protect the Best.

 

The best practice is to wear a fit tested NIOSH approved device like an N95 respirator, or an elastomeric, or even a PAPR. Avoid ear loop masks as the primary purpose of PPE is to reliably protect the wearer against infection.

NIOSH approved N95 respirators work well. "The fabric used in an N95 mask is certified to filter out 95 per cent of tiny contaminating particles from the air, providing excellent (not perfect) protection."

"They filter out viral containing particles." How much depends on the quality or filtering capacity of your mask. 

 

A properly fitted NIOSH approved N95 respirator or P100 filtered elastomeric respirator are the best protection against an airborne pathogen. KN95s and KF95s are better than cloth or surgical but can't provide the proper fit and safety that Niosh approved N95s do. 

 

Cloth masks and even surgical masks provide some protection against COVID infection, which is certainly better than no protection at all, though insufficient.

"Fitted particle-filtering masks like N95s are up to 75 times more effective at preventing infection with COVID-19 than surgical masks, according to a study published recently in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."

Sars-Cov-2 spreads from Droplets

  • COVID is airborne like droplets.

  • You can protect yourself by standing 6 feet apart. 

  • COVID germs don't stay in the air for long. 

  • You can stop the spread by hand washing and using hand sanitizer. 

  • Hand sanitizer protects from breathing in COVID

FACT: Covid Is Airborne.

The COVID virus is AIRBORNE and it spreads like smoke filling a room. Sars-CoV-2 can linger in the air up to 9 hours. Six feet distance can't protect you from smoke. Hand sanitizer and hand washing do not protect against  an airborne virus. 

Mild Infection?

 No Problem.

  • Mild infections are like the flu.

  • ​Mild infections are aren't dangerous.

  • Mild infections build immunity

Children

  • ​Children are not harmed by COVID. It's like a cold. Each time children are infected, they build immunity to the virus. 

  • Children don't develop long term health impacts from COVID.

  • Children don't develop Long Covid. 

  • Children's immune systems can safely adapt to COVID.

  • Schools are safe. 

FACT: Children Can Be Significantly Harmed by CoVID.

 

Children get COVID and like everyone else, they spread COVID to each other, family and others and can repeatedly. Children have debilitating complications from COVID infections and are experiencing high rates of repeat COVID infections. 

 

Research indicates that repeat infections are even more dangerous and deadly though it only takes one mild COVID infection to result in very bad outcomes including damage to the brain, immune system, vascular system, causing strokes, heart damage and heart attacks, and susceptibility to other pathogenic infections

Children develop Long COVID. As of January 2023, 71,000 children in the UK have developed Long COVID.

 

 At least 5% of children in Texas. 

Repeat Infections

  • Reinfections are harmless.

  • Reinfections build up my immune system. 

  • When we allow ourselves to be reinfected, we help the virus "play out it's course."

FACT: Repeat Covid Infections are risky.

​Reinfections are very common even within weeks of recent vaccination. Reinfections are more deadly, result in higher rate of hospitalizations and severe complications.  

"Reinfection with COVID-19 increases the risk of both acute outcomes and long COVID," study author Ziyad Al-Aly, MD, told Reuters. "This was evident in unvaccinated, vaccinated and boosted people."  

 

Even symptomatically mild COVID infections can result in immune system damage and organ damage (brain, lungs, kidneys, GI tract, vascular system, heart) and can result in diabetes, strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary embolisms months after the initial acute infection.

Heart Attacks are up 72% and Strokes 52% since the Pandemic started. A Rampage Through the Body.

"For those who had COVID-19 two times or more, the data appeared to show a:

Two times increased risk of death 
Three times increased risk of hospitalization 
Two times increased risk of long COVID and chronic fatigue 
Three times increased risk of heart issues and blood clotting disorders"

Herd Immunity

  • Once we reach herd immunity, we will have built a wall of resistance to the viruses ability to continue to infect and replicate.

  • We just need to get to herd immunity and that takes enough of us getting infected.

FACT: Herd Immunity Won't Save Us.

 

We've experienced no attainable herd immunity with the SARS-CoV-2.

 

Reinfections alone attest to this fact. The virus is spinning off variants so fast that current mRNA vaccines can't keep up. Neither can our immune systems. Each variant acts as a novel pathogen.

 

We can STOP this variant breeding by using simple mitigation tactics together, united against this pathogen.   

Previous infection does not provide herd immunity because of the multitude of variants.

 

“Unfortunately, SARS-CoV-2 appears to be the most adaptive and dynamic foe we have ever faced and hoping that the antiquated concept of ‘Herd Immunity’ will save the day, causing SARS-CoV-2 to ‘miraculously (go) away,’ is just pure fantasy.”

COVID'S Getting Milder

  • Death rates are much lower than they were when Delta was out, so COVID is becoming less harmful.

  • People just get sick and recover from COVID now.

  • COVID is way less dangerous now than it was when Delta was around.

FACT: COvid has Evolved to be More Dangerous.

 

Viruses don't all naturally evolve to become less dangerous. Over 3 years into the pandemic, Sars-CoV-2 has evolved to be more dangerous. COVID has demonstrated persistent virulence and has developed immune evasive variants.

 

The Omicron variants kill and maim less dramatically. Death rates are still rising exponentially. 

 

Our latest variant, XXB.1.5, is immune evasive and more contagious than previous variants.

 

COVID, particularly Omicron, mutates rapidly with no guarantee this mutation rate will slow or become more benign

 

"Newer variants have evolved into some of the most infectious pathogens known to man. As the virus spreads it mutates. And as it mutates it increases its ability to infect, evade our immunity and even attack our immune system."

Long Covid

  • I don't think Long COVID is a big deal.

  • Long COVID may even be psychological.

  • People should just push past lingering symptoms and get over it.

  • Lingering symptoms aren't serious and will resolve if people would stop focusing on them so much.​

  • Long COVID is rare.​

Immunity Debt

  • Immunity debt has reduced immune capacity in children because the immune system needs constant exposure to pathogens to remember how to work.

  • Our immune systems can fight most pathogens off if they are repeatedly exposed to them.

  •  Our children's immune systems have become weaker because they missed socializing in school during months long stay at home orders in 2020 issued by the government.

FACT: Immunity Debt Doesn't exist though Covid Acquired Immune Dysfunction does.

Heightened lethality of non-covid illnesses due to immunity debt. Children were not put in sterile environments during shelter in place "lockdowns" in the Spring of 2020.  

 

COVID does cause immune deficiency at least for 8 months post infection.

 

Immune deficiency from COVID causes inadequate immune response to other circulating viruses and bacteria like the flu, RSV and Strep. 

Vaccines will Keep Me Safe

As long as I'm up on my vaccines, I'm fully protected and no longer need to wear a mask.. 

​​FACT: The COVID vaccine provides inadequate protection.

Vaccines can't stop transmission. You can have an asymptomatic infection or mild infection and still transmit the virus to others. The vaccine only approach is inadequate to "stop the spread" because vaccines don't stop transmission. 

 

The virus mutates 3-4x faster than flu. Vaccine production can't predict or keep up with such rapid mutation of variants on a yearly basis. Current vaccines require very frequent updating. Additionally, the efficacy of boosters less than 3 months against current variants. 

Lisa McCorkell of Patient-Led Research Collaborative:

“Studies vary on how much protection vaccination provides on the risk of developing Long COVID, with one study indicating no difference, and others showing partial protection with a reduced risk of 15-41%."

 

Vaccines cannot prevent hospitalization or death. You can develop Long COVID after asymptomatic and mild infection even if vaccinated. You can develop organ damage, brain damage, vascular damage, strokes, heart attacks, immune system damage after a mild infection even if vaccinated.

Only The Old and Immunocompromised

 

  • The only people truly harmed by COVID are the old and immunocompromised. I've got to live my life. They can stay home or wear their masks when they go out.

  • One way masking is enough to protect old people and the immunocompromised.

  • COVID doesn't generally harm people under 60.

FACT: COVID harms & kills people of all ages no matter how healthy they may be. 

 

It's their time anyway. When we don't care if others suffer or die because they are "old" or medically vulnerable, what does that make us? Who are we? What have we done to our humanity?

 

A hard fact about COVID is that anyone can become vulnerable at any time by one simple mild infection.

 

What has happened to our society to cause such disdain for our elders, our own parents and grandparents? 

The COVID pandemic has resulted in a mass death event and a mass disabling event. No one is safe. We are all vulnerable. 1 in 20 odds with each infection that anyone of us will develop Long COVID are not good odds. Repeat infections increase the odds for developing Long Covid and organ damage from COVID.

CHILDREN ARE IMPACTED.

For the third year in a row, COVID has been a leading cause of death in the U.S.

Covid is "almost certainly" behind a doubling in the number of children developing deadly Kawasaki disease - a condition that causes heart failure in children, when blood vessels around the heart are inflamed. 

"Recent surveys estimate around 5% of Texas kids are suffering from Long COVID.

YOUNG ADULTS are IMPACTED.

"A recent study found that heart attacks in people ages 25 to 44 increased by 30% compared to the expected number over the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Some data estimates that 1 in 13 adults in the US have long COVID. "The physical and emotional effects can be devastating...18% of people with long COVID didn’t return to work after more than a year, and 75% of them are under the age of 60."

"Young Adults With COVID-19 May Have Long-Term Impacts on Blood Vessels...young adults who had an infection with COVID-19, were not hospitalized and had only minor symptoms may have long lasting impacts on their heart health and be at an increased risk for cardiovascular complications.

 

Findings from the study showed that the otherwise healthy, young adults had detrimental effects on their arteries throughout their entire body, including the carotid artery, which is responsible for supplying the brain with blood.'These findings suggest a potential long-term impact of COVID-19 on young, relatively healthy adults who may otherwise think the virus may not be affecting them,' Steve Ratchford, a senior author on the study said."

Just A Respiratory Virus

COVID is just a respiratory virus, like a bad cold.

FACT: COVID is much more than Just a Respiratory Virus.

COVID is caused by the Sars-CoV-2 virus. Sars stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Yet Sars-CoV-1 and Sars-CoV-2 have proven Sars to be more than a respiratory virus. 

Sars is a vascular virus that attacks the respiratory system and can damage your brain, heart, pancreas, GI tract, liver, kidneys in addition to your immune system and your lungs. 

Fear

  • You're living in fear. I refuse to live in fear.​

  • You're a ridiculous hypochondriac. 

FACT: A Biosafety Level 3 Pathogen Loose in Society Should Trigger a Healthy Proactive Fear.

Sars-CoV-2 is a Level 3 Biohazard pathogen.​ There are only 4 BSL levels. BSL Level 3 pathogens require full PPE and hospital-grade ventilation and safety protocols in order to handle.

We are still in the middle of a raging pandemic. Death rates were still rising at over 225,000 in 2022 and around 750,000 since Biden took office. Variants today are more contagious and immune evasive.

 

The CDC estimates that 1 in every 5 infection develops into Long COVID. Of those, about 1/3 do not recover. It is estimated that 7.5% of the US population have developed Long COVID.

 

​Healthy fear allows one to confront a truth fully aware. Unhealthy fear often results in denial and evasion of reality.
